the emerald isle
Although my last name is Eschenbrenner, my other three grandparents are descendants of, as my great Aunt DeLourdes would say, the isle of saints and scholars. That, of course, would be Ireland. On this page are two songs that are in part a celebration of the emerald isle and they're available as free downloads.

But first a word about the songs. The songs come from my book club projects. The first, "Will You Die for Ireland?" is inspired, in part, by Frank McCourt's autobiography Angela's Ashes and appeared in a slightly different arrangement on my first CD, Bob's Book Club. The second song, "The Isle of Saints and Scholars" is inspired, in part, by Thomas Cahill's book "How the Irish Saved Civilization" and appears on my second CD, Greetings from the Library.
